I was looking forward to reading Helpless because I really like Jessica Knoll’s Bright Young Women and grew to like Luckiest Girl Alive, but I don’t know what the heck this is. I am so disappointed with this novel because it is not at all what I expected from someone who wrote such an emotionally devastating and thoughtful story like Bright Young Women.

In my review for Mona Awad’s Bunny, I had said that I thought the Bunnies (the clique of rich girls that the main character does not like but wants to be part of) are the more interesting characters. I take that back. I was completely wrong. We Love You, Bunny is a slog to read.

Mona Awad’s Bunny was first published in 2019 and in the years since has become a BookTok darling, but it is a divisive novel. You are either going to love this book or think it is one of the most unhinged things you have ever read. I’m in the latter camp. I don’t hate it, but I am wondering what the fuck did I just read?
