My Top Five Reads of 2023
It’s funny how everyone seems happy to put the year behind them. I thought my 2023 was a good one. I definitely read some great books this year. The only reason I’m happy it’s 2024 is because I have some big plans this year. But let’s recap my top five books of 2023 before we look forward to what’s to come:
5. It’s amazing bow Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, completely changed my perspective of her.
4. Babel was not the only book by R. F. Kuang that I read this year, but I think it is a great book (and better than Yellowface).
3. I loved Barbara Kingsolver’s modern take on Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield with Demon Copperhead.
2. I feel like you can never go wrong with a book by Lauren Groff. The Vaster Wilds is bleak but memorable.
1. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin is totally worth the hype. I wish I could go back and read this book for the first time again.
